About us
The goal of this project group is to create a Digital Platform named Our Smart Family Buddy (OSFB) for young families in IJsselmonde, that can offer personalized support in achieving a healthy lifestyle.
The Buddy is mainly focused on mental health and interaction with one’s own environment.
What we do
In the project, the research team is developing an interactive digital platform with human and environmental interactions focused on the improvement of health knowledge, a healthy lifestyle, and a healthy environment for and with young families (people with a childwish, coupels that are pregnant, or with children up to the age of 4).
The platform will be specially developed for young families living in IJsselmonde, part of Rotterdam South. The platform is created in accordance with: families in the community, experts in the field of epidemiology, technical and clinical experts, and public and private organization such as schools, daycare centers, local and regional municipalities, governments, IT companies, and healthcare insurers.
Who are we
The researchers of this project can often be found in IJsselmonde to talk with young families and organizations in the neighborhood. These conversations are to talk about the use of the digital tools (such as apps) and give support on lifestyle, stress, and influence.
To get in touch with young families we make use of flyers to spread information, but we can also often be found at different locations in the neighborhood which young families often visit, such as playgrounds. Many organizations are aware of the project and are often asked to think with us about our research.
The pink ‘Our Smart Family’ bus plays a helpful role. It is used to move visibly through the neighborhood and easily connect with residents.
